BirthdayLock by 10102

A gift that opens on a day you choose.

Put money aside for a child or grandchild today. It stays sealed until the date you pick, then they open it for free.

Seal a gift

Pick the occasion

Each one sets the card design and suggests a message. You can change the message.

How it works

  1. Choose the amount and the day

Pick ETH, or USDC for stable value, and how much. Then pick the day it opens: a birthday, or their eighteenth.

  2. Say who it is for

Their wallet address if they have one. Just their email if they do not. Or a printed card you hand over yourself. Add a message if you like. It stays between the two of you.

  3. Seal it

Confirm in your wallet. The gift is sealed on Ethereum until the day comes. You get a link to share and a card to print. On the day, they open it and pay nothing.

What you should know

  • You need a wallet. They do not. Sealing a gift takes an Ethereum wallet with some ETH or USDC in it. The person you give it to can open it with their email or the printed card.
  • It cannot be taken back. Once sealed, nobody can cancel it or shorten the date. Not you, not us. Check the address or email and the date before you confirm.
  • Paper is like cash. Whoever holds the printed sheet can claim the gift once it opens. If the sheet is lost before then, the gift is lost too.
  • Email gifts depend on the inbox. The key is kept by Turnkey, a wallet provider, and signs only after a six-digit code from that email. Neither we nor the recipient hold the key. Spell the email exactly. A typo seals the gift to an inbox nobody has.
  • The value moves. The gift holds ETH or USDC, not dollars. The price of ETH goes up and down. USDC is made to stay close to one dollar. Nothing sealed earns interest.
  • The link shows the gift. Anyone with the link can see who it is from and what it holds. It cannot move the money.
